Putin: Custom Union of Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan soon geopolitical reality
[21.05.10] The Customs Union of Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan is outgrowing its economic format to become a new geopolitical reality, said the Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin.
He was speaking during a meeting of the Customs Union top body. Putin said that a single economic space in the making is the key area of integration processes within the CIS and Eurasian Economic Community.
On building a legal basis for a single economic space, the Prime Minister said each party to the Union will have to meet the others halfway.
The Prime Ministers of Belarus and Kazakhstan have also spoken optimistically about prospects for a common Customs Union.
