Medvedev will present proposals for new government on 15 May

Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev will on May 15 present to President Putin a proposal for the structure and composition of the new government cabinet, said the government's press office. In accordance with the law "On Government" the prime minister has to deliver the proposal within a week after taking office.

Russia's central election commission, "Direct governor elections can take place in October in four Russian regions"

In October this year may be held the first direct Governor elections in four regions of Russia, said a member of Russia's central election commission Sergey Danilenko on Friday, according to the news agency ITAR-TASS.

Russia’s currency- and gold reserves down 0.4 billion USD last week to 522.9 billion

The External and Public Relations Department of the Bank of Russia informed on Thursday that the country’s international currency and gold reserves are down 0.4 billion USD or app.0.1 percent since 27 April to a volume of 522.9 billion USD as of 4 May 2012.

Price regulation for hotels during the Olympics 2014 in Sochi: average price of 53 Euro

A single room in a three-star hotel will cost no more than 103 Euros during the Olympic Winter Games in Sochi 2014 per day, while the average price of all hotels in total will be at 53 Euros. This was on Thursday announced by the governmental newspaper "Rossiyskaya Gazeta".

Statoil and Rosneft sign agreement about Joint Venture for development projects in Barents Sea and Okhot Sea

The state-owned Russian oil company Rosneft and the Norwegian counterpart Statoil have signed an agreement on a joint development of offshore resources in the Barents Sea and Sea of Okhotsk, Rosneft said in a statement on Saturday.

Tragic end of Superjet-100 demonstration flight: 48 people killed in crash in Indonesia

The Russian news service "Voice of Russia" reports that Indonesian rescue helicopters found parts of the wreckage of the lost aircraft Sukhoi Superjet-100 and human remains at 1600 meters over sea level at Mount Salak. The newly developed Russian plane crashed right into the mountain on a demonstration flight with 48 people on board.

Victory over Nazi Germany was celebrated throughout Russia on Wednesday

With a large military parade on the Red Square, Russia's capital celebrated the German capitulation and the victory over fascism 67 years ago. President Putin and Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev were present during the traditional parade in Moscow. In all Russian cities and towns, the Soviet victory was celebrated, also in Murmansk where a big parade with thousands of active participants was marching along Lenin Prospect.

Report from the NBA & FIBA breakfast business meeting on Teriberka

The two international business organizations in Murmansk - NBA (Norwegian Business Association) and FIBA (Foreign Investors Business Association) - organised on Thursday 3 May a joint business breakfast meeting with the new mayor of Teriberka, Mr. Aleksander Savkov. The subject of the event was the current situation and opportunities for foreign investors and businesses in the village of Teriberka, that is central to the planned giant Shtokman project. Around 30 people from over 20 companies and organizations participated in the meeting.

Medvedev: Conservative values and welfare state as a goal crucial for the future of the ruling party United Russia

President Medvedev, who has agreed to lead the country's largest party "United Russia", said that conservative values and goal to create a welfare state will be crucial for the party's future.
