It starts to become difficult to get a hotel room during Economic Forum in Murmansk in October |

Those who want to participate in the 1st International Economic Forum (MEF-2009) 15 – 17 October in Murmansk and have not made their hotel reservation will very soon face problems to find a good room during this big event. Rooms with European standard are more or less fully booked. All rooms which still are available are ear marked for persons who are officially registered as participants at the Forum, says FLAIT Murmansk which is on behalf of the regional administration of Murmansk the official coordinator of accommodation and internal transport for all participants.
Ulrich Kreuzenbeck, director of FLAIT, says that the hotel situation as quite difficult. “Most of the best rooms are already booked and we have a waiting list for upgrading to better rooms. In addition have we got clear instructions from the organizers of the Forum, the Murmansk regional administration, for whom we organize all this saying that only persons who are officially registered at the Forum can get a confirmation for a hotel room”.
There are expected about 800 participants during this biggest international event in Murmansk so far. Already now approximately 300 persons are registered.
”The fact that the exhibition SevTEK is a part of the Forum-events makes the situation quite difficult. Unfortunately also people who only want to join SevTEK have to register at the Forum in order to get a room. The policy is very strict”, Kreuzenbeck underlines.
The FLAIT-director does not feel quite comfortable with the companies role as an administrator of a product, that meens hotel rooms, which is to limited compared to the demand. “We can not offer our usual service – usually we can always find an optimal solution for our clients even in difficult situations. Also this time we do our very best but as a matter of fact Murmansk has to few quality hotel rooms, Kreuzenbeck says.
”Some few good rooms are still available. We recommend everybody who wants to participate in the big event in October to contact us immediately”, he says.
