Gazprom won't delay Shtokman over crisis

(Interfax) - Gazprom does not plan to move back the start to development of the big Shtokman field due to current slump in demand for gas. "There is no reason to delay," Deputy CEO Alexander Ananenkov told journalists in Perm on Friday.

Shtokman Development AG (SDag) has published new projects to be carried out in Teriberka. Amongst is the construction of a camp which shall accommodate contractors` and sub-sontractors’ personnel for the Shtokman construction works with a maximum capacity of 13.000 beds, the building of an export terminal for LNG, the LNG-plant itself, a lidar survey and a medical service center in Teriberka.
New tenders announced by Shtokman Development

Shtokman Development AG (SDag) has published new projects to be carried out in the nearest future. Amongst them is contract for the archeological excavations required to perform in 2009 at certain archeological sites in the construction area of SDag facilities. Another contract is about temporary accommodation and transport of staff and equipment during the project period.

April 28, Shtokman development AG opened its official website: www.shtokman.ru. The site itself is still under development but its important function is already clear: information about bids to the relevant projects. For example, it has already published information about five projects with submission deadline 12 May.

Governor of the Murmansk region had the main idea to present during this meeting: “We do want that the majority of contractors who legally win the tender become the tax payers on the territory of the Murmansk region.”

After the meeting the governor explained to the journalists that the region should get fair tax payments from the contractors and that is not difficult, it simply should be mentioned in the contract that the company must be registered in the tax inspection of the Murmansk region. With the help of this money the region will successfully develop.

Nord Stream and Shtokman: no delays

Planned gas pipeline Nord Stream directly between Russia and Germany will be completed as it was planned. Also Shtokman project will begin its production without any delay.

Aleksander Medvedev, deputy chairman of Russian gas giant Gazprom confirmed this Tuesday during the gas conference in St. Petersburg that Nord Stream will be completed according to the plan. “Nord Stream is a priority project for Europe and will be realized as planned”, said Medvedev.
